Only ten days until we leave for California! This vacation has been a long time coming and I'm so happy that it's coming soon. Three days at Disneyland, a day at a water park, a day roaming around L.A. tourist-style, a day of relaxing by the pool, and a couple of baseball games.
Although I must admit, I really couldn't care less about the baseball games. We can go to a Brewers game anytime we want, so I'm not thrilled we're going to two games while on vacation in California. But we're really going because my dad and brother never get to go to major league games of any sport, and we want to spend time with them.
I am thrilled about seeing my family. I rarely get to visit with them and it'll be really fun to spend time with them while doing some really fun things. Not to mention that my parents haven't seen Leilani since she was just a week old and my brother and his two kids have NEVER met her. So it will be great letting them visit with her. I think they will all be amazed by her. She's just that cool.
My only concern is flying with Leilani. Spending a total of eight hours on a plane with a 10 month old doesn't excite me. But she normally does well sitting through 3 hour-long hockey games on a regular basis, so I hope that might translate. I've been doing tons of reading about traveling with a baby and we're going to take everything I've learned and apply it. My wish is that she does so well on the plane that random strangers approach us at the baggage claim afterward just to thank us for being such good parents of such a well behaved little girl. I can dream, can't I?
